Properties - Uses:

It is used like all queen excluders interposed between the brood-chamber and the honey-chambers.

The doors open and close at will and you can have them applied to the hives during transport.

The perimetric frame makes it possible to use it as a double queen excluder by placing a single excluder on top of it.

Internal partitions offer a guide to be combined with vertical dividers to confine the queen even within a frame in order to:

· Treat (e.g. for Varroa) in a controlled brood environment.

· Limit the brood before flowering.

· Multiply colonies.

· Combine it with a common excluder in the upper part to turn into a double excluder. So, you have one queen up and one on the bottom.

· Combine it with a common excluder for multiplication: In this case you do the same thing as the vertical divider, but you put the entrances of the excluder facing the opposite side from the doors of the brood-chamber.

Much lighter than metal excluders which makes them easier to carry, install and collect at the apiary. Perfect gaps that do not injure the bees. Just 3 mm thick so that the hive body connectors can be fastened. Resistant to oxalic or formic acid, or even steam (up to 119 °C).

Combines well with the entrance cap (ref.AN51670) or the side entrance tray (ref.AN51676) so that each section has its own entrance, turning any hive into two 5-frame or three 3-frame hives. To block the passage of the queen over the vertical barrier, you can use queen excluders (ref.AN51401-4). If you want to block the communication of worker bees as well (in case of three-hive units) you can use the propolis collection screen (ref.AN58001). • TIP: Open a 4cm hole in the places where you want the entrances of the individual colony, apply the entrance plug and you are ready. Your hive has now been equipped with extra entrances which may be useful in the future, even as ventilation ports during hot months.
