The “deep” ANEL hive cover has a perimeter that surrounds the upper part of the hive. A modern tool with many advantages... • Double walled with the gap filled with polyurethane foam insulation. • Unmatched impact strength and load support. • Anti-slip surface to prevent hives from slipping during transportation. • 4 points of attachment at the front, back and the sides (adjustable or wire type). • Resistant to chemicals (caustic potash, oxalic acid, formic acid, bleach etc.). If you use ventilated bottom boards the hive has adequate ventilation even without ventilation caps. Just think of the wild hives settling on the top part of closed spaces, like tree hollows.

It does not get unfastened or loose and does not “sag”. You can use higher speeds in the honey extractor without destroying the comb (especially useful for thick honey types such as fir). All ANEL plastic frames are available waxed or unwaxed. If you want to wax ANEL frames yourself you can either dip them in molten wax (temperature 60-70⁰C) or wax them using a roll dipped into molten wax. TIP: The ANEL frames can be disinfected in a solution of caustic potash 5% at 80⁰C.
